about

Boston-based Swedish-born bassist Bruno Råberg is a renowned jazz musician, teacher and composer whose works specialize in reviving and interweaving different musical traditions. His Fantasy for Woodwind Quintet employs almost cinematic narrative techniques, using different "scenes" to depict a love story: "Our hero sets out on a journey," explains Råberg, "finds romance and returns having been changed." This premiere recording features Boston's Oak Street Woodwinds, whose members include Boston Symphony Orchestra Bassoonist Suzanne Nelsen and flautist Ann Bobo from the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra.
